Day-wise itinerary

Day 1: Day 1: Kochi to WayanadYour driver arrives at your hotel, home or airport at 6:30 am. Take the highway north through Thrissur, where you can stop around 9:00 am for a South Indian breakfast. Keep a water bottle handy and enjoy the changing scenery. By 11:30 am you reach Calicut, and the ghat climb begins at Thamarassery around 12:30 pm. The hairpin bends are scenic and slow, so relax and enjoy the forest views. Stop at Lakkidi View Point around 1:30 pm for photographs and a hot tea. Lunch is at a local restaurant near Vythiri at 2:00 pm, and you check in at your hotel or resort by 3:30 pm. Rest for a while, and at 5:00 pm we take you for a short walk or a plantation road drive. Return by 6:00 pm for dinner and an early night in the cool air.
Day 2: Day 2: Lakkidi, Pookode Lake and Banasura Sagar DamLeave at 8:00 am after breakfast. If the mist is good, Lakkidi View Point makes for a magical start, and 30 to 45 minutes is enough here. At 9:30 am you reach Pookode Lake. Walk around the water edge, try a pedal boat and visit the small craft stalls. Plan for about 90 minutes. Lunch is at 12:30 pm at a local restaurant. At 2:00 pm you head to Banasura Sagar Dam, a vast earthen dam with islands scattered across the reservoir. Walk along the embankment and enjoy the views. Boat rides, where available, are optional. Around 4:30 pm you begin the return, with a stop at a spice or tea shop. You are back by 6:00 pm for dinner and rest.
Day 3: Day 3: Edakkal Caves, Kuruva Island and Thirunelli TempleToday's route covers the east and north, so we leave at 8:00 am. By 9:00 am you reach Edakkal Caves on Ambukuthi Hills. A short drive and a stepped climb lead to ancient rock carvings and wide valley views. Allow about two hours, and wear comfortable shoes. Lunch is around 12:00 pm, and then you drive towards Mananthavady. At 2:00 pm you reach Kuruva Island, a protected cluster of forested islets on the Kabini river. Walk the shady trails and enjoy the stillness. Access can be limited after heavy rain, so the driver will suggest an alternative if needed. At 4:00 pm you visit Thirunelli Temple, set against the Brahmagiri hills. Spend about 45 minutes in the calm surroundings. By 6:00 pm you start the return to your stay for dinner and rest.
Day 4: Day 4: Wayanad to KochiAfter a relaxed breakfast, check out around 8:00 am. If you want one last stop, you can visit a plantation viewpoint or pick up spices, coffee and homemade chocolates for gifts. At 9:00 am the cab begins the return drive down the Thamarassery ghat. Around 11:30 am you reach Calicut, and lunch is at 1:00 pm near Kuttippuram or Thrissur. From here, the drive to Kochi continues, and depending on traffic you reach between 5:00 and 6:30 pm. Your driver drops you at your doorstep, airport or railway station, with a bag of fresh spices and plenty of memories.
