Day 1: Day 1: Bangalore to WayanadYour driver reaches your pickup point at 6:30 am. After loading luggage, you head out on the Mysuru highway, which is quick and comfortable in the early hours. By 9:00 am you reach Mysuru for breakfast, and this is a good time to try idli, vada and strong filter coffee. At 10:00 am you set off towards Gundlupet and the Bandipur and Muthanga forest belt. The road runs through dense jungle, and early travellers often spot deer, peacocks and sometimes elephants. Do not stop for photos in the forest stretch or offer food to animals. By 12:30 pm you enter Wayanad, where you stop for a simple local lunch. You check in at your hotel or resort around 2:00 pm and rest for a while. At 4:00 pm we take you to a nearby viewpoint or a plantation road for a slow evening drive. You can pick up fresh spices, coffee powder and homemade chocolates if you like. By 6:00 pm you are back at the stay for tea, a relaxed dinner and a good night's sleep in the cool hill air.

Day 2: Day 2: Lakkidi, Pookode Lake and Banasura Sagar DamAfter breakfast, you leave at 8:00 am for Lakkidi View Point, the gateway to Wayanad. Early mornings are best, when mist often fills the valley below and the light is soft. Spend around 45 minutes here for photographs and a hot tea from the stalls. At 9:30 am you reach Pookode Lake, a freshwater lake surrounded by forest. Walk around the water edge, enjoy a pedal boat ride if you wish and visit the small handicraft stalls nearby. Plan for about 90 minutes. Lunch is at 12:30 pm at a local restaurant, where you can try Kerala meals or fish curry. At 2:00 pm you drive to Banasura Sagar Dam, a large earthen dam with small islands scattered across the reservoir. Walk along the embankment, enjoy the views of the Banasura hills and try the optional boat ride where available. Around 4:30 pm you begin the drive back, with a stop at a spice outlet or tea shop on the way. You return by 6:00 pm, freshen up and enjoy a quiet dinner at the hotel.

Day 3: Day 3: Edakkal Caves, Kuruva Island and Thirunelli TempleToday's route heads to the eastern and northern parts of Wayanad, so we leave at 8:00 am. The first stop, around 9:00 am, is Edakkal Caves. A short drive and a stepped climb lead you to ancient rock engravings and sweeping valley views. Allow about two hours, and wear comfortable shoes. At 12:00 pm you stop for lunch before driving towards Mananthavady. By 2:00 pm you reach Kuruva Island, a protected group of forested islets in the Kabini river. Bamboo rafts, quiet trails and shady trees make it a lovely spot for a slow walk. Access can be limited after heavy rain, in which case the driver will suggest an alternative nearby. At 4:00 pm you head to Thirunelli Temple, set against the Brahmagiri hills in a peaceful forest setting. Spend 45 minutes here, taking in the calm atmosphere. By 6:00 pm you start the return towards your stay, reaching in the evening for dinner and rest.

Day 4: Day 4: Wayanad to BangaloreEnjoy a relaxed breakfast and check out at 8:00 am. If you want one last stop, you can visit a plantation viewpoint, a local market or a handicraft shop for gifts. Keep it short so that the drive stays comfortable. At 9:30 am your cab leaves for Bangalore. The drive through the forest belt in daylight gives another chance to see wildlife. Around 12:30 pm you break for lunch near Gundlupet or Mysuru, and then continue. Depending on traffic, you reach Bangalore between 5:00 and 6:00 pm, where we drop you at your doorstep with a bag of coffee and plenty of stories.
